Face / Off: Why John Woo’s Explosive 90s Movie Took A Year To Shoot

We didn’t have any of that. We only had planes and explosives. “

Cho continued, “There were a lot of visits to training grounds where you would learn how to properly shoot a gun, learn to look properly like you were in the FBI and John Woo had a lot of input to make sure the actors were comfortable with how they physically portrayed these characters “.

1997 Face / Off starring John Travolta as FBI agent Sean Archer and Nicolas Cage as his arch nemesis, Castor Troy. In 2019 it was revealed that Paramount was looking to do a reboot of Woo’s film, but writer Simon Barrett recently confirmed that the film is not a reboot or remake, but rather a true sequel to the original film.

The untitled sequel will be directed by Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard. It has not yet been confirmed whether Cage, Travolta (or Cho) will reprise their roles in Face / Off 2 but according to Wingard, both Cage and Travolta are interested in reprising their roles.
