Unused Justice League concept art gives DeSaad a Darth Vader vibe

Jerad S. Marantz shares Zack Snyder’s Justice League DeSaad concept art that evokes Star Wars’ most iconic Sith Lord, Darth Vader.

Concept and costume artist Jerad Marantz revealed a possible DeSaad design for the villain’s appearance in League of Justice, And fans pointed out some similarities between his appearance and that of one of the most important characters in pop culture.

Marantz posted the concept art on Instagram and fans quickly noticed a resemblance between DeSaad’s new look and Darth Vader. Most notably, the League of Justice The villain has a chest piece that resembles the Sith Lord’s life support computer.

The DC villain wears a long black robe with ragged cuts, similar to the The priest Apokolips and Steppenwolf’s costume designs, which Marantz also shared with fans. While the priests appeared in the movies with little to no change, DeSaad wears something very different from his initial Darth Vader-style design. When fans first saw the trailer for the Snyder Cut, their first look at a much bulkier-looking DeSaad saw him wrapped up in a large robe with large pieces of metal attached.

Marantz has extensive experience, designing costumes and creatures for Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Black Panther, Strange doctor Y Avengers Endgame, along with DC Extended Universe’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, League of Justice Y Shazam! Before and directly after the launch of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the veteran artist shared many different potential designs of the film’s characters and their wardrobes.

DeSaad, played by Peter Guinness, was originally intended to appear on the stage cut. from League of Justice, but his scenes were removed. The Apokoliptian villain works directly with Darkseid as his tormentor, along with Granny Goodness.
