Love takes time and love takes work. Many romantic anime are aware of this fact, so they often take the time to build the romance between the main characters that leads to the reward of them reuniting. While this lengthy game may keep fans interested in seeing the main characters finally confess their feelings, some animes have their characters dive much earlier.
While this doesn’t mean the characters become a couple in episode one, they end up dating earlier than the other anime that have the two of them in a relationship as the ultimate goal. Surprisingly though, Keita managed to muster up the courage to jump beyond “friendly territory” and go straight on dates in episode six. Despite the fact that they are both socially awkward and the other little tangles that got in their way, they manage to go out and stay as a couple for the rest of the season.

At the beginning of And did you think there is never a girl online? Hideki Nishimura, aka Rusian, and Ako are married in the game “Legendary Age”, and although it is not real to Rusian, it is very real to Ako due to her rejection of the real world. Eventually, the two meet in real life and, along with her guildmates, try to get Ako to give the outside world another chance.
This quickly strengthens the bond between Ako and Rusian, and their love for the game begins to turn into the real deal in episode six. While Ako’s mindset is a bit skewed relative to her in-game counterpart, the fact remains that her love for him is genuine and they were together even before Rusian began to reciprocate those feelings.
8 Rent-A-Girlfriend: Rent Bounce
Poor Kazuya receives a severe blow of anguish from the beginning of Rent a girlfriend, and eventually tries to drown his sorrows by using the Diamond app to hire Chizuru to go out with him. Unfortunately, he majestically ruins things when he ends up introducing her to his family, causing the two of them to engage in an awkward and tangled web of lies.
Despite not being a real couple, the two are technically dating, but not in the traditional sense. Despite the constant mistakes and misunderstandings, the two begin to develop genuine feelings for each other throughout the series.
7 Arakawa Under the Bridge: boy meets self-proclaimed girl from Venus
After falling into the Arakawa River, Kou Ichinomiya is rescued by a girl named Nino, who claims to be from Venus. Kou feels that he has to pay the debt of saving his life and, without any other idea how to do it, decides to start a relationship with Nino.
Although he is unfamiliar with the concept of romance at first, Nino agrees and they start dating in episode four. Kou’s relationship with Nino leads him to discover the many strange people who live in Arakawa with Nino and all the strange things that come with them.
6 Nisekoi: Is it fake love?
Not all couples start liking each other, something Chitoge and Raku knew quite well. After giving the worst possible first impressions, the two end up having to be in a fake relationship in order for their families to ask for a truce from their enmity. For most of the series, they pretend to be a couple.
Chitoge and Raku are initially like cats and dogs and can’t stand the fact that they have to pretend they’re dating, but as their fake love continues, the two grow closer. Over time, those harsh feelings start to turn into real feelings and show that opposites sometimes attract.

Horimiya It quickly became a popular anime in this genre thanks to the raw emotion of its characters and its more realistic take on teenage romance. Part of that stems from the theme of falling in love with someone after meeting them, which the main characters Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura do quite quickly after seeing past initial appearances.
At the end of the fourth episode, Miyamura ends up confessing her feelings to Hori, believing that she is asleep at the time and this ignites the spark for Hori to confirm their relationship status in the later episode. The two end up dating from then on while going through all the ups and downs that come with relationships.

Sakuta and Mai end up having a unique first meeting, to say the least. Sakuta sees Mai walking through the public library dressed as a bunny girl, and that begins their entanglement that eventually leads them to become a couple. Yet surprisingly, the two of them move pretty fast on that front, even if neither put a label on it at first.
In order to experiment with the strange events surrounding the existence of the bunny senpai, Sakuta and Mai have a date (although Mai denies that it is one) already in episode two. In the next episode, Sakuta confesses that he loves Mai and the next is when she accepts his feelings, becoming an official couple for the rest of the season.

Takeo Goda has been unlucky when it comes to romance, not only are his crushes turned off by his big and intimidating appearance, but they always end up interested in his best friend Makoto. All that changes when he meets sweet and kind Rinko, who quickly takes an interest in him.
Because Takeo was so used to things not going his way, he assumes that Rinko is only interested in Makoto at first. This misunderstanding is resolved soon enough, and they officially become a couple in episode three. That begins their true love story, one in which beauty is more than superficial.
two Tsuredure Children: Tons of love confessions!
Tsuredure children is an anthology of love stories centered on several students from the same high school. Since the fight for confession is an ongoing theme of the series, some of these stories end up being slow and steady. Others, however, are not.
Already in the first episode, some of these characters end up becoming a couple and start dating, and more end up following them not too far back in subsequent episodes. While not all of the characters come together on the spot, it’s surprising how many of them do so early in the anime.

Despite how fast it is and the small ceremony that it entails, NASA eagerly accepts and her very healthy marriage to Tsukasa begins to take shape. Not only do Nasa and Tsukasa get together at the end of the first episode, but they skip several other lines and land directly in marriage after barely meeting each other.
