Love takes time and love takes work. Many romantic anime are aware of this fact, so they often take the time to build the romance between the main characters that leads to the reward of them reuniting. While this lengthy game may keep fans interested in seeing the main characters finally confess their feelings, some animes have their characters dive much earlier.
