Captain Marvel She is desperate to learn magic, and to do so she turned to some of the best wizards in the Marvel Universe, including the Scarlet Witch. Desperately trying to prevent a dark future where billions will die, including her Avengers teammates, Carol Danvers hopes to conquer her greatest weakness and learn magic herself.

Captain Marvel is already one of the most powerful Avengers, but after being transported to a timeline ruled by a dictator named Ove, he returned, determined to fight with magic. Ove, the daughter of the sorceress Enchantress and Namor, the Sub-Mariner, successfully used Captain Marvel’s powers to transport from the future to the main timeline. As Carol deals with a breakup (which is full of time travel shenanigans), she connects with Doctor Strange. Now, return to Strange for help in stopping Ove. However, the wizarding community isn’t keen on giving the super-powered Avenger even more power.

On Captain Marvel # 28 of VC’s Kelly Thompson, Jacopo Camagni, Espen Grundetjern and Clayton Cowles, Carol can’t stop thinking and having nightmares about Ove destroying her current timeline. He meets Spider-Woman and the pair head to the Sanctum Santorum. Jessica Drew realizes that Carol and Strange slept together and calls her before the trio have a conversation, which makes things a bit awkward. When Captain Marvel tells Strange that he wants to learn magic, he laughs in his face. He explains that learning magic takes time and would take away his greatest weakness, leaving everyone else vulnerable. After getting a new costume, taking a trip to the Doorless Bar, reviving in front of Ove, and a kiss with Strange, Captain Marvel searches for someone to Will teach him. She talks to different magic users, including Niko Minoru, Magik, Wiccan, Doctor Voodo, and Talisman, before reaching Scarlet Witch, who refuses to help her.

Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, and the wizarding community understand the power one wields when learning magic. The fact that Captain Marvel gained magical abilities wouldn’t give her weaknesses, and while that would certainly help defeat Ove, it could lead her down a dark path. Scarlet Witch He doesn’t want Carol to embrace the dark to avoid a future that hasn’t happened yet.
