A new variant cover for The United States of Captain America # 1 shows the multiple Sentinels of Liberty that Steve Rogers will encounter.
Marvel released a new variant cover for their upcoming series United States of Captain America.
The cover, by the artist Carmen Carnero (Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Captain Marvel) puts Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson in the spotlight. Behind them, several new Captain America are displayed on a red and white background created to resemble the American flag. Ram is part of Marvel’s Stormbreaker initiative, which is meant to highlight the next generation of up-and-coming comic book artists.
United States of Captain America will see Rogers and Wilson embark on a cross-country journey through America after Captain America’s shield is stolen by a mysterious being. In the process, they meet various people inspired by the legend of Captain America, who is targeted by the mysterious thief. Each issue will feature a back-up story centering on one of several Captain America, with # 1 featuring LGBTQ + hero Aaron Fischer, # 2 featuring teenage black Nichelle Wright, and # 3 featuring Joe Gomez from the Tribe. The series debuts on Captain America’s 80th anniversary, with Marvel posting a special photo in March to celebrate the occasion.
