Sebastian Stan and Lily James are sporting the role in new photos of Pam and Tommy, the upcoming Hulu miniseries depicting the titular couple’s marriage.
Sebastian Stan and Lily James wear the role in a new Pam and Tommy Photos. Directed by Craig Gillespie, who previously directed Me, tonya, in addition to directing the next live action Cruella, the miniseries will air on Hulu. Will chronicle the true story behind the release of the sex tape with Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
The story, to be written by Rob Siegel, will also shed light on the relationship between Anderson and Lee returning to their whirlwind of romance that began when they married in 1995 after only knowing each other for a few days. The miniseries has added notable names to its cast, including Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, and Andrew Dice Clay. But much of the curiosity around Pam and Tommy points to the middle pair. And now, the first pictures show what Stan and James will look like in their roles.

New photos shared by JumpCut online offer a first look at how well the main actors transform into their respective roles. James, in particular, seems almost indistinguishable from what Anderson looked like in the 1990s. Stan, too, is an excellent case for himself as the drummer for Mötley Crüe. Rogen is also included in the first-look photos, which you can see below. He plays Rand Gauthier, the man who stole and leaked the couple’s sex tape.

When the project was first announced, there were arguments that Pam and Tommy missed a perfect casting opportunity by not casting rapper Machine Gun Kelly and actress Megan Fox as the titular newlyweds. While the duo certainly would have been compelling, the photos illustrate that James and Stan are solid picks in their own right. James is perhaps the more compelling transformation of the two, leaving his days as Downtown abbeyLady Rose is behind to become a blonde bombshell. However, Stan is not far behind either, as he takes care of the rocker’s tattoos and body piercings. It will be interesting how their perfect performances align with their performances as they will have to adapt certain elements of the couple’s personality during a tumultuous period of time.
Given that it has been alternately billed as a comedy and biographical drama, the Hulu miniseries seems poised to give its main duo room for thriving performances. It wouldn’t be the first attempt to encapsulate a couple who were, at one point, at the center of pop culture. Anderson has been the center of a ME! True Hollywood History, not to mention several parodies, while Lee appeared as a character in the 2019 Netflix movie The dirt. But, given the star power involved and the talent involved behind the camera, Pam and Tommy It could popularize the couple’s troubled saga to a wider audience.
