Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista explains how he has wanted to play Bane for one of Warner Bros. ‘DC movies and why he would be perfect for them.

Dave Bautista is currently known for his appearances throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Drax the Destroyer, who first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy. The actor recently expressed that there is a comic book character that he has longed to play for quite some time: Bane, one of Batman’s most iconic foes.

In an interview with Collider, Bautista explained that he had once introduced himself as Bane to Warner Bros., although there was not necessarily any project with Bane in development at the time. He said, “There are certain characters that I’ve held onto for the last 10, 20 years, and Bane was one of them. There is no discredit for Tom Hardy’s version of Bane, I love that performance, I love that movie. I would love to try it. ” He continued, “I think it could put an interesting twist on it and I think it could do the character justice. Not just in performance, but also physically.”
