Instagram teams up with Patton Oswalt and the team behind Marvel’s Hulu and MODOK to launch a new filter celebrating season 1 of the series.

The team behind Hulu’s MODOK The animated series recently debuted with a new Instagram filter that allows fans of the show to transform into MODOK, Captain America’s enemy.

Patton Oswalt, the voice of MODOK, debuted on Instagram’s story filter by posting a screenshot of his own face superimposed on the Marvel supervillain via Twitter. Oswalt captioned the image, “The #MODOK filter is now on @instagram! Enjoy it!”

To use the filter on Instagram, fans just need to open the “Stories” camera, scroll through the different filters, and select the MODOK option.

The MODOK character debuted in Marvel Comics’ Tales of suspense # 93 and # 94 in 1967. Later, MODOK became a recurring enemy of Captain America. The MODOK character was co-created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Created by Oswalt and writer Jordan Blum, Hulu’s MODOK The series follows the titular super-criminal as he goes head-to-head with his biggest obstacle yet: a midlife crisis. Along the way, MODOK and his family come across a variety of dark supervillains.

Series co-creator Blum recently teased that Season 2 might feature some ‘big’ X-Men characters, saying, “Before we got clearance to use some of them, I said, ‘Let me see how Their lawyers know these characters well. So, you know, Lila Cheney is in the pilot and she’s like, ‘Okay, we got our way. Let’s see what we can do next. And then finally, she was like,’ Okay. , Mister Sinister is here, they ‘Okay we use, you know, these characters.’ The floodgates of X-Men have opened. There are some bigger guys that I would love to see appear in season 2 … I would love to write a scene from Storm / MODOK if I may. “

Blum previously shared that Marvel blocked the appearance of Spider-Man villain Stilt-Man in MODOK due to licensing issues related to the Marvel-FOX merger. Blum explained, “The only characters they told were not Stilt-Man and Paste-Pot Pete.”

Marvel’s MODOK stars Patton Oswalt as MODOK, Aimee Garcia as Jodie, Ben Schwartz as Lou, Melissa Fumero as Melissa, Wendi McLendon-Covey as Monica Rappaccini, Beck Bennett as Austin Van Der Sleet, Jon Daly as Super Adaptoid and Sam Richardson as Gary. The series is currently streaming on Hulu.
