The first Paramount + trailer for the iCarly revival reunites Carly, Spencer, and Freddy, along with some more well-known faces from the Nickelodeon show.
Paramount + released the first trailer for the upcoming icarly Renaissance.
The trailer begins with clips from the original Nickelodeon series before jumping into 2021, where we find Carly, Spencer, and Freddy rebooting the beloved web show. From there, we see the characters really embrace the freedom that their new home streaming platform brings them, which includes some mild cursing and Spencer drinking spicy beer (he immediately spits and regrets trusting Guy Fieri). We also see the return of a few other familiar faces, including Freddy’s overbearing mother and the crew’s archenemy, Nevel Papperman.
Released in September 2007, icarly focuses on Carly, a teenage girl who lives with her older brother Spencer and hosts a web show with her friend Sam, filmed by her other friend Freddy. The series ran for six seasons and ended in November 2012. However, while critics were lukewarm on icarly, the show was a huge hit with audiences and won numerous Kids’ Choice Awards.
The new iCarly will resume almost 10 years after the original Nickelodeon show ended, and will find Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends navigating work, love, and family in their twenties.
icarly stars Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor, Laci Mosley, and Jaidyn Triplett. The series premieres June 17 on Paramount +.
