There are many anime characters who would do anything to get what they want, even if they had to resort to underground means. Some of them take on a completely different personality, which is often so compelling that others are shocked when they discover the true personality of the character.
Although this is not always the case, these characters often have sinister intentions, as their goal is to make people lower their guard around them. Characters who pretend to be nice often end up stabbing someone in the back, but these characters always end up getting what they deserve at some point.

She pretended to be a kind woman, but she was the type who enjoyed tormenting humans. He later showed his true colors to Jean, while attempting to kill him and Roy in an encounter that ultimately cost him his life.

After the death of his abusive father, Dio was adopted into the Joestar family. His goal was to steal the family fortune, so he posed as the perfect son. He tried to break Jonathan’s spirit behind George’s back, but eventually he changed tack.
Instead, he chose to poison George Joestar. His crime was finally discovered by Jonathan, and George finally realized that Dio was not as good of a person as he thought.

When Class 1-A met Shindo, he seemed friendly on the surface. He was polite when he introduced himself, but Katsuki Bakugo saw right through him in an instant. At this point, Naofumi stopped trusting her, but the other heroes continued to think she was innocent. Spear Hero, in particular, bought himself with his innocent act and agreed with everything he said.
