Thor and Odin might forgive Loki, but they are his family and, with their emotions, they will not be objective. However, Mobius is neutral and calls him on his BS, starting with him murdering Phil Coulson. The murder of Agent SHIELD was the catalyst for the Avengers’ reform, but he was still a hero who died in cold blood and was never able to truly resurrect. In fact, Coulson helped start the movement with Tony Stark for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. So if it had been Iron Man or Captain America lecturing Loki, they wouldn’t have let this slide.

Mobius then makes it clear that Loki’s ego is what really poisons him. You need constant attention. His narcissism means that he will endanger anyone to obtain the objects of his desire and win, based on the bet with the God of Thunder who saw him jeopardize a flight. It gets worse when Loki sees Frigga’s death, all because he sent Malekith’s forces for Thor. But instead they murder their adoptive mother. At this point, Loki realizes the reason Mobius has when they tell him that salvation is not possible.
