A new report says Wesley Snipes is in talks to join the cast of John Wick: Chapter 4, where he would play a new sword-wielding character.
To update: According to a new report from THR‘s Borys Kit, Wesley Snipes will not appear in John Wick: Chapter 4. Although there were reportedly discussions of Snipes appearing at one point, Kit says it didn’t work out. Screen Rant has reached out for comment.

The film, which is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on May 27, 2022, will star veteran series leader Keanu Reeves alongside newcomers such as Donnie Yen and Bill Skarsgård. Adding another famous action star to the film set to join Reeves and Yen would elevate John wick 4 to truly star-studded heights.

Now, it looks like another classic action star could join the cast of John wick 4. According to a report by The IlluminerdiWesley Snipes is currently in talks to join the film as a new unnamed swordsman character, possibly in homage to his famous role as Blade, the Marvel vampire hunter. Adding Snipes to the already stellar cast of the film would be a great move, setting up some exciting fights from him, either head-to-head or back-to-back with Reeves. At this time, however, Snipes’ involvement in the project has not been confirmed.
The future of John wick is insured for at least the next several years, with a fifth film already in development for later John wick 4 releases. That means any character or plot introduced in the next film could also be part of the plot of John Wick: Chapter 5.
