The June 11 release of Nintendo’s Game Builder Garage has paved the way for many recreations of other famous game titles. Here are some of the best.

For anyone who has ever wanted to learn to program from the mind into Nintendo, its recently released title Game Builder’s Garage aims to do just that. By working alongside friendly coding tools known as Nodons, gamers can learn to create a host of different video games, including recreations of some other famous releases.

The game is presented as an educational but fun way to learn to code and develop games. Nintendo released Game Builder’s Garage On June 11, and in the short time since, Nintendo fans have figured out how to get the most out of the tools they’ve been given. Game Builder’s Garage introduces players to various tutorials that guide them step-by-step through the creation of various unique game stages. From there, they are given the opportunity to create original titles completely from scratch.

However, the new sandbox games are not the only thing that players have been creating. The extensive programming functionality provided in Game Builder’s Garage has also allowed some dedicated fans to recreate other famous titles like Mario Kart or even FPS action CONDEMN. As more and more people find ways to be creative, it seems likely that even more AAA games will appear in the Game Builder’s Garage community. For the moment though, here are some of the best AAA game re-enactments ever made.

Sonic the Hedgehog – G-008-1WD-PCT: This Sonic the Hedgehog re-enactment brings the series’ iconic Green Hill Zone to life Game Builder’s Garageand includes custom sprites that allow players to run and jump around the map taking the form of the main character of the franchise.

Mario Kart – G-006-1B9-DRL: Yes Game Builder’s Garage Players are looking for other Nintendo releases to play, they can now play a recreated version of the racing game Mario Kart. The game uses 2D sprites within a 3D map full of sharp turns and obstacles.

Portal – G-002-457-18Y: Fans can now experience Valve’s highly praised title, Portal, within Game Builder’s Garage. The 3D remake is titled Shmortal and provides players with a device that can create interconnected portals to help them progress through the levels.

Super Mario Bros – G-006-38T-GY2: Mario Kart It is not the only Nintendo title that has earned a Game Builder’s Garage interpretation. This is a recreation of level 1-1 of Super Mario Bros. for the NES, and contains Easter Eggs for players to collect all the coins or speed up the level.

DOOM Eternal – G-002-CYJ-CW1: It has become a running joke within the gaming community that CONDEMN can work with anything from Sonic mania to a calculator or printer. Game Builder Garage is one of the latest versions of this thanks to this Eternal DOOM recreation.

The Legend of Zelda – G-008-0X2-HYM: This project is part of an attempt to recreate the entire original. The legend of Zelda NES game. Players can also find other Zeldagames inspired by Game Builder’s Garagesearch function.

Monkey Super Ball – G-001-V7X-8H7: Super Yeti Ball describes himself as a Super monkey ball tribute, with players controlling a yeti-propelled ball to collect apples across various maps. The creator of the remake, Shintendo, has also made a Game Builder’s Garage tribute to Nintendo‘s Super Smash Bros. Serie.
