Sanada is one of the many big names attached to the sequel. Other newcomers include pop singer Rina Sawayama in her feature film debut, martial arts superstar Donnie Yen as an old friend of Wick, and Bill Skarsgård in another mysterious role, potentially as the movie’s villain.

Additionally, Lawrence Fishburne has confirmed his return as another of Wick’s allies, the Bowery King. Fishburne said of John Wick 4, “I read the script. It’s really cool. As much as it’s the same world as the other three movies, it’s deeper. Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Laurence Fishburne. The film hits theaters on May 27, 2022.
