Everyone almost always supports the good guys. In the world of Star Wars, almost everyone wants to see the Jedi defeat the villains and see the Rebel Alliance defeat the Empire in the classic battle of good versus evil. But, the dark side still has some fantastic enemies.

The truth is, if someone was looking for epic and bad villains to take on, there is no one better than the Sith and those who use the dark side of the Force. And while a good portion of the Sith Lords have become legends and icons, others deserve more attention.

Even if Clone wars was initially dismissed as nothing more than a children’s show by many, the series proved to be one of the best Star Wars entries in recent history. Known for featuring great characters like Ahsoka and Captain Rex, Clone wars gave fans the badass sith assassin Asajj Ventress.

A former apprentice to Count Dooku who was betrayed by her master, Ventress has been through a lot on and off the series. From fighting Savage Oppress to becoming a bounty hunter after the fall of the Night Sisters, Ventress remained a fantastic Sith that defied expectations.

The sequel to the trilogy of Star Wars The universe has been viewed by many as a sore spot for the galaxy. And while it was unpredictable, there are many characters who deserve more respect and attention in the series, like Kylo Ren.

While Kylo may not return to the Star Wars universe in a new series or franchise, it is possible that a prequel series could explore the powerful and menacing boy in a more positive way without the strained relationship between Darth Vader’s grandson and Rey.

Sometimes an actor helps create a character. Introduced after The Phantom MenaceCount Dooku was Sidious’s apprentice and lackey and was played by the legendary Christopher Lee, who clearly helped elevate the character.

Having played villains in other iconic movies beyond Star WarsLee played a fantastic Count Dooku who was used in movies, TV shows, and comics, and the character still stands out years after the prequels came out.

7 He deserves more: Darth Nihilus

There are times when Star Wars can delve deeper into the horror genre than science fiction and Darth Nihilus does it more than anyone else. Losing everything during the Jedi civil war, Nihilus joined the dark side and craved the power of the force.

In becoming one of the three dark lords of the Sith for a long time, Nihilus was almost like a vampire, draining the Jedi of his power and killing dozens. Although he has had a few appearances in history, an actual appearance in the movies or shows would be amazing for Nihilus.

Needless to say, Emperor Palpatine is one of the darkest and most powerful Sith Lords in the galaxy. While cheating death through clones seems a bit absurd, the nefarious Palpatine left a huge impact on the galaxy.

From the orchestration of the events of Order 66, the creation of Darth Vader, and the dominance of the dark side of the force, Emperor Palpatine’s dark legacy of terror encompasses the entirety of the Skywalker Saga and allows him to shine with the rest.

5 He deserves more: Darth Plagueis

For a long time, the public believed that characters like Emperor Palpatine was the darkest lord in the world. Star Wars universe, the brain behind everything. Then the audience heard the word of Darth Plagueis the Wise, a powerful Dark Sith Lord who was Palpatine’s mentor.

A Sith Lord who could prevent death from taking hold, Plagueis was an intelligent Sith who was a master planner. Although Plagueis has earned some love in novels and comics, his actual appearance in live-action movies and TV shows has yet to come to pass for an incredible dark master.

4 Legend: Darth Maul

It only takes a few moments to turn a character into a legend. After his first appearance in The Phantom Menace When he used a double-bladed lightsaber and fought Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan in one of the best John Williams movie soundtracks, Maul was quickly sent and thrown into a well, never to be seen again.

At least, until Dave Filoni and Clone wars brought Maul back. Developing the fan-favorite villain even beyond his little appearance in Episode I, Maul became an icon, a brutal Sith lord and a monstrous being that terrorized the Star Wars universe and Obi-Wan Kenobi for years before his final death.

3 He deserves more: Darth Bane

Many dark Sith lords end up changing the course of the dark lord’s legacies. A powerful Sith Lord who lived centuries before the Clone wars and Skywalker Saga, Darth Bane viewed the Sith as weak, always fighting each other for their own power.

With the goal of reforming the Sith, Bane created the legendary Rule of Two. The rule states that only two Sith can exist at a time, as a way to keep power in check. As well as being a deadly and epic dark master of the force, Bane has faded into the background a bit despite a few appearances and needs a bit more attention.

Each Star Wars A fan worth his salt will record that Darth Vader is not just a great villain, but a fantastic character. Starting out as the lovable Anakin Skywalker before taking a dark path to become the darkest Sith Lord imaginable before finding redemption, Vader’s story is legendary.

Outside of the movies, the comics, and Vader’s animated legacy continue, and with the dark lord increasingly turning into a tragic horror monster, Vader will always be there to strike fear into the hearts of heroes.

1 He deserves more: Darth Revan

Although most Sith Lords have had dozens of appearances, the likes of Darth Revan have only had a handful of times in the limelight. A former Jedi who turned to the dark side during the days of the Old Republic, Revan is a deadly force that should not be taken as probable.

A vicious Sith Lord who has become a fan favorite of many, Revan has proven time and time again that he is worthy of joining the mainstream universe and yet he has yet to be given a proper introduction.
