New images and a poster have been released for the upcoming Candyman movie. The images feature callbacks to the original 1992 social thriller.
The next the candy man film has released a new poster and promotional images ahead of its August release. The project tells the story of the urban legend Candyman: a supernatural assassin with a hook instead of a hand who is summoned by those who dare to repeat his name five times. The original film was an adaptation of Clive Barker’s short story, “The Forbidden,” but it changed the themes of the British class system to address race and social class in inner-city America. The film will be directed by Nia DaCosta, a rising talent who will also direct Captain Marvel continuation The wonders next year.
