John Boyega would love to star in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton, taking on the lead role where Regé-Jean Page left off.
John Boyega stated that he has his sights set on a new project as he faces a Star Wars-Future free for the first time in six years – would love to be part of the Netflix cast ‘ Bridgerton instead of Regé-Jean Page, who came out of the period drama after its first season. Boyega is best known for Star Wars fans in the role of Finn in three installments of the sci-fi series: 2015 Star Wars: The Force Awakens, From 2017 Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and from 2019 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Bridgerton tells the story of the Bridgerton family’s children: Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth. Lady Whistledown serves as the narrator for the first four books and, on the Netflix series, she serves as the writer for a newsletter exposing society gossip. The stories take place between 1813 and 1827 during the Regency period in England. The series was a huge success for Netflix during its first season, drawing the attention of a large audience and some famous fans, such as Boyega.

When asked what role he wanted Hollywood to cast him in, he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter who was interested in being a part of Netflix’s surprise hit, which was renewed for a second season and recently began filming. You can read his full quote below:
I’m trying to get that money man from Bridgerton. I need to wear those leather leggings, I need to be the new kid up there. Give me a horse and a beautiful maiden and all that. “
Bridgerton It will move forward without the character of Simon (Page), who, along with Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne, were the central focus of the show’s first season. Their unlikely story came to an end with their surprise marriage, the revelation of some tragic secrets, and eventually the birth of their first child, a son. The series’ second season would focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) quest to find a viscountess. The Netflix period drama will continue to follow Bridgerton’s series of books in the narration of each story, numbering eight in all.
Boyega would bring a strong personality to the conceited Bridgerton clan and a contrast to some of the strongest male characters in Regency-era drama. While there have been no official talks for the actor to take on a role on the Netflix series, his could be a one-season role as Page. Earlier this year, Boyega said that being in a big franchise is a luxury prison for an actor when he wants to do something else.
