Disney’s live adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from 1937 features Shazam! Rachel Zegler from Fury of the Gods as the eponymous princess.

Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves has found its leadership in Shazam! Fury of the gods Y West Side StoryRachel Zegler.

“Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of the rediscovery of joy in this classic Disney fairy tale,” said director Marc Webb.

Shortly after news of the casting broke, Zegler herself shared an old tweet from 2017 in which she disguised herself as The little Mermaidit’s Ariel and she wrote, “I want to be a real Disney princess.”

Launched in 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves It is based on an 1812 fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm and is notably Disney’s first animated film. The story centers on a young princess who is forced into manual labor by her evil stepmother, a queen, who is jealous of the beauty of Snow White. When the Queen sends a Hunter to kill Snow White, she flees into the desert, where she befriends seven dwarves, each with different personalities.

White as snow will be the latest in a long line of live action remakes of Disney animated movies that already includes The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan and more.

Directed by Marc Webb, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves starring Rachel Zegler. The film has yet to receive a release date.
