After weeks of anticipation, Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe take the biggest step forward in the latest episode of Legends of Tomorrow.

Since the beginning of Legends of tomorrow Season 6, Ava Sharpe has had one goal: to save Sara Lance. After discovering that she was missing, the Legends returned to the Hole, where they met David Bowie. He gave them a video he took of Sara, in which he excitedly told the rock legend that he planned to propose to his girlfriend. However, just before she had a chance, Kayla and Gary kidnapped her on Bishop’s behalf. After a seemingly endless journey, the couple finally reunited and Sara got a chance to get down on her knees and ask the question.
Their time apart has been strange for the couple, with Ava dealing with the chaos of time-displaced aliens in addition to all the changes occurring in the Waverider. On the other side of the galaxy, Sara had to escape the clutches of season 6’s great evil, Bishop, after landing on her planet and being attacked by a Zageron. While she thought she had survived this ordeal, it was later revealed that Sara actually died and had been living in a cloned body. “Back to the Finale II” expanded on the details of its cloning, which included cell regeneration.
The journey back to Ava was treacherous and Sara had to make a difficult decision: clone herself once more, but only with human DNA, or stop Bishop before her plan for cosmic domination came true. Sara accepted her new life and decided to get rid of Bishop, taking her opportunity to return home to Ava and deal with her new clone form together.
Throughout this Legends of tomorrow In the episode, Ava was mourning Sara after incorrectly learning that Amelia Earhart killed her. Saw the Bowie tape looped until it got corrupted. When she did, Ava, worried, tried to fix it, but Sara cut her off. Ava was too scared to turn around, worried that if she did, Sara might disappear again. Sara promised never to disappear again and the couple hugged. They decided to surprise the Legends with the news of their return by meeting them at the Indian restaurant across the street from the Hole, where the Legends spent their time planning a way to get Sara back. The team was overjoyed at the return of their captain and began to return to the ship.
Just outside the Hole, Sara saw an opportunity and turned to Ava, pulling out her mother’s ring that she obtained during a quick stop between the post-Fates celebration. Sara got down on her knees and gave a speech, but Ava excitedly agreed before Sara could say anything. Still, Sara managed to get out some heartwarming words, saying that she will never be lost as long as she has Ava and that she is her home. As they kissed in celebration, a mannequin filled with a fireworks bomb exploded in the sky, lighting up the night to honor this beautiful moment that Legends of tomorrow Fans have been anticipating for years. With that, Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe are now officially engaged.
