In Superman & Lois, Jordan finally gets his last wish since moving to Smallville, but it couldn’t have come at a worse time due to family turmoil.

WARNING: The following contains important spoilers for Superman and Lois Season 1, Episode 11 “A brief reminiscence between cataclysmic events, “which aired Tuesday on The CW.

On Superman and Lois, Jordan and Sarah have done the “will they, won’t they?” arc from the first episode. He fell in love instantly, but went from a cosmetic crush to something more, as she would help him get through his sudden move from Metropolis to Smallville. Over time Sarah takes Jordan a lot with her due to her serious ways, which is no surprise that they are taking things to the next level. However, even though Jordan gets his last wish, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.

When the Super Sons and Sarah are in the Langs, Sarah looks scared. She’s disillusioned after her father, Kyle, was possessed by a Kryptonian, not to mention it’s a horror show how the military and Superman had to take over the city to fight the forces of Tal-Rho. It’s too much to take in, but she’s thankful that Jordan and Jon are there.

Sarah surprisingly asks Jon to leave so she can spend time alone with Jordan, but instead of discussing things platonically, she kisses him. They’re clearly going to be in a relationship after this, holding hands and all that in front of both families.

However, Jordan’s powers are not yet under control, so they could backfire and hurt Sarah. She will be closer too, which is counterintuitive for him to keep his secret. If she finds out, she will be in danger as Tal-Rho and other enemies can target her. It’s something Sam Lane won’t like to hear, as he wants to mitigate risk, not encourage it.

On top of that, the Kents are on shaky ground with Superman bonding with his brother and breaking evil. Since they have also had multiple attacks at home, Sarah, who is in the line of fire, will invite Kyle and Lana to the farm. Once again, there are more people who could get hurt or discover the truth about Jordan’s Kryptonian heritage.

The other thing is, Jordan has maturity issues and jealousy, so him and Sarah hanging out at school can result in losing their temper to the point where their powers run amok. Add all of this to Sarah dealing with her own personal issues, and it doesn’t bode well. It will even require Jon to keep a close eye on them, possibly creating mistrust between the siblings.

Ultimately, Lois isn’t selfish and didn’t mind setting boundaries for this budding romance, but with Clark gone and a lot of questions coming up, Jordan might have to prove how selfless he is and sacrifice the relationship. After all, there are no more Jor-Els, so Jordan doesn’t have much alien help to rely on if he self-destructs. Simply put, you are too out of control to add more people to your lives in such an intimate way.

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette, and Wolé Parks. The series airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET / PT on The CW.
