On NBC’s Good Girls, Annie solves a major financial problem with her son, Ben, creating another disaster that will drastically affect her home.

On NBC Well GirlsOne of the biggest problems with the show has been Annie’s (Mae Whitman) immaturity. She often complicates the criminal endeavors of Beth (Christina Hendricks) and Ruby (Retta) with all her personal problems, but season 4 has found her on more stable ground. Sadly, Annie undoes much of her progress when she solves a major problem with her son, Ben, creating another that will seriously affect their home.
Annie needs to get her things in order so she can get financial aid for Ben at his new school. She knows her ex is in financial disarray, so Annie decides to pay the bill at the new high school where Ben is finally happy, but it comes at a considerable cost. Still, Annie doesn’t want to break the momentum while playing sports and adjusts quite well to life after her gender transition, something never seen before.
The problem is, you have no one else to trust. Beth is neck deep in mortgages and is married to Dean so the fraud is obvious. Ruby has her family with Stan, so Annie can’t ask him either, since all she needs is someone to share her address with. This is where Annie’s most regrettable adventure, Kevin, comes into play. She is homeless, which was a strange fetish that Annie had in her flirtations, and this creates the best trump card.
She is desperate, so she visits him in his car and asks him to sign the paperwork. She basically needs him to pretend to be her partner, and he does. However, he tells her to leave him alone as he is out of luck and hates being used.
Annie succeeds with the project days later, but by breaking the news to Ben, Annie reveals a major change in her domestic life. Apparently a tree fell on Kevin’s car, so he needs a new home, which, ironically, Annie can provide for him. Ben is stunned that he always chided his mother for sleeping with Kevin, plus he is sensitive to his home environment as he always takes care of Annie.
As for Annie, it could be that Kevin forced her to do this move, but she felt a bit guilty. It may even turn into romance again, but since he really is so wacky, it will frustrate Ben and establish a lot of arguments. It’s also worth noting that if Kevin finds out about Annie’s criminal empire, he might blackmail her for money or want to break in. Plus, if he does, he might slip up and let Ben know the dark truth about Annie’s extracurricular activities with the ladies.
