Disney releases character posters for the human and animal stars of Jungle Cruise, hitting theaters and Disney + next month.
One month before Jungle cruiseDisney, which opens July 30 in theaters and on Disney + Premier Access, has released seven new posters highlighting the cast of characters from the film.
The posters show Dwayne Johnson as the steamboat captain Frank Wolff, Emily Blunt as the scientist Dr. Lily Houghton, Èdgar Ramírez as the mercenary Aguirre, Jack Whitehall as Lily’s brother McGregor Houghton, Jesse Plemons as the ambitious prince. German Joachim, Paul Giamatti as the captain of the port. Nile and Frank Wolff’s pet jaguar, Proxima.
The official synopsis of the film reads:
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” is a thrilling adventure-filled ride through the Amazon with prankster Captain Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon rainforest and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downstream on La Quila, his ramshackle but charming boat. Lily is determined to discover an ancient tree with unmatched healing abilities, possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Pushed together on this epic quest, the unlikely duo face countless dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree are revealed, the stakes are even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate – and that of humanity – is at stake.
Jungle cruise, which is based on the classic Disney Parks attraction of the same name, is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti and Èdgar Ramírez. The film will hit theaters and at Disney + Premier Access on July 30.
