While fans loved the original GTA: Vice City for its’ 80s vibes, Grand Theft Auto 6 might do better in an updated, less romantic modern setting.
Grand theft auto 6 It seems likely that he will return to Vice City, if the rumors are to be believed. Although the game has yet to be officially confirmed, speculation points in that direction, and despite GTA Vice City being a fan favorite, Rockstar hasn’t returned to the location since 2006 Vice City Stories. Other rumors suggest GTA 6The Vice City version will be on today. While that might upset some fans, Rockstar can probably earn more than revisiting the 1980s.
The original Vice city was inspired not only by Miami, but also by the fictional versions seen in Scarface Y Miami Vice. That meant a lot of cocaine trafficking and traditional “cool” touchstones, ranging from speedboats and superbikes to neon signs and 80s pop. The real Miami had these things, of course, but GTAThe version was marked up to 11 and was deliberately cartoonish at times. Rockstar seemed more interested in providing a fun environment and activities than (a lot of) cultural commentary.

At the game design level, updating Vice City to the 2020s would free up Rockstar to create new characters, stories, and map designs. Society and technology have evolved in a way that could allow for new mechanics; Drones, piracy, and the internet were substantially non-existent in the 1980s. The Vice City itself would feel cooler, not just in terms of design, but because of having a different social and cultural structure. Miami has changed, as has its criminal world. A modern game could feature Miami’s illegal street racing scene, for example.
How a modern Vice City could benefit GTA 6
Rockstar could also afford the kind of satire and recent commentary. GTA the games are known. Aside from easy targets like hedonistic club goers and GTA 6 it could address the xenophobia and far-right political shift that has taken over much of America. It is worth remembering that GTA 5 dates back to the Obama presidency, so the series has only dealt with Donald Trump as a fictional businessman, Donald Love, not as a political figure. Rockstar would now undoubtedly have a field day with Love and his fans.
There would be nothing fundamentally wrong with Grand theft auto 6 Going back to the 80s. The setting is still interesting, and it would even be nice to see how Rockstar would treat it with updated graphics and gameplay. But there is simply more potential in a modern Vice City.
