Legendary film and television actor Jeff Goldblum joins the cast of HBO’s black comedy and suspense series Max Search Party for its upcoming fifth season.
Jeff Goldblum joins the cast of HBO Max’s Search party for season 5. The black comedy series premiered on TBS in 2016 and was picked up by HBO Max for its third season. The series stars Alia Shawkat as Dory, who sets out to find a missing college friend, leading Dory and her group of friends to get mixed up in a savage plot of murders and cover-ups that eventually results in Dory be kidnapped in season. 4. Each season has attracted viewers and was renewed for a fifth season on HBO Max earlier this year.
For TVLine, HBO Max has added Jeff Goldblum to the cast of Search party season 5. Goldblum will be repeated in the fifth season as Tunnel Quinn, “A charismatic tech billionaire who enters a very public business partnership with Dory on the other side of her near-death experience. Although he is best known for his iconic film roles, including the Jurassic Park franchise, Goldblum has a fairly extensive list of television credits, such as Law and order: criminal intent Y Will and grace, the latter of which earned him an Emmy nomination for his role. He has also had roles in Glee, Portlandia and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. He is also the host of the Disney + Nat Geo documentary series, The world according to Jeff Goldblum, which premiered in 2019 and was renewed for a second season.
Along with renovating Search party for the fifth season earlier this year, HBO Max also signed Search party showrunners Charles Rogers and Sarah-Violet Bliss to a two-year blanket agreement. Season 4 concluded in January and ended on a suspense. While Dory appeared to die in a fire from her stalker, the final moments of the season finale showed that she is still alive. It will be interesting to see how Goldblum fits into this exciting series, but his quirky humor makes him perfect for the show.
