Brandon’s parents were horrified when they found out their son was moving, and fans think they just don’t want to pay for farm aid.
In a recent episode of 90 Day Boyfriend: Happily Ever After?, Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina finally broke the news to Brandon’s parents that they would be moving, and fans were shocked by their response. Instead of being proud of their son’s newfound independence, Brandon’s nosy mom, Betty, and his dad, Ron, were upset to hear that their son was leaving home. However, fans criticized the Gibbs’ motivation and think they are angry about losing free labor for their farm.
This season, Julia has been pushing Brandon to get the two of them an apartment so they can finally move in. But Brandon’s parents doubt his abilities and have tried to dissuade the couple from moving off the farm. In the last episode, Brandon and Julia took their parents to see an apartment, but they did not tell them that they had already signed the lease. Unsurprisingly, Betty and Ron tried to dissuade them again and were surprised to find that it was already a done deal.

Although in the past Brandon’s enmity with his parents divided viewers, now they are not so divided. Fans in Reddit talked about how selfish Brandon’s parents were acting, and they think they’re upset about losing Brandon and Julia’s free job. In the scene, Betty laments that she and Ron will have to go back to doing all the chores on their own, and the fans got over it. “Oh what! Now we have to take care of the animals that WE buy ourselves because we wanted this ‘farm’ in the first place,”A fan commented.
Many fans couldn’t understand why Betty and Ron are so attached to their farm. “I don’t understand why they keep all animals, “wondered one fan. “All they do is complain about the work involved. They could sell them.” After all, Betty and Ron were the ones who made the decision to operate a farm, they shouldn’t just assume that Brandon will want the same life. Brandon is in his early twenties and it is strange that his parents are surprised by his desire to gain some independence.
Ron and Betty Gibbs’ behavior in 90 Day Boyfriend: Happily Ever After? is causing more and more viewers to side with Brandon and Julia. If Brandon’s parents are really having a hard time taking care of the farm, then they should do what all other businesses do – hire help, keyword hire. At the very least, it would help them earn the respect of fans of the show and perhaps repair their relationship with Brandon and Julia.
