When logging in Black widow, Rachel Weisz didn’t talk about her future in the MCU playing Melina. Weisz is one of many newcomers to the MCU who made their debut in Black widow, Scarlett Johansson’s long-awaited solo film centered on Natasha Romanoff. Once scheduled for last year, the movie finally arrived this weekend after multiple COVID-related delays. How Melina ends Black widow Alive, it seems likely that she will return to the MCU fold at some point in the future. However, Weisz still doesn’t know what will come next for her. Talking to Collider about the movie, Weisz answered the question of whether she discussed her future Marvel before Black widow. “I mean, it would be different for every actor, but for me, it was just for this movie.,” she said.

In the early days of the MCU, actors would sign up for 9 movies right away, even if they didn’t know what those movies would turn out to be. Marvel no longer uses this practice, so it makes sense that Weisz only discussed Black widow by joining the franchise. That doesn’t mean that Melina will never be seen in the MCU again, just that there seems to be a slower approach behind the scenes.

At this time, it is unclear if there will be a Black widow 2. However, with Yelena growing stronger within the MCU, it stands to reason that she can continue directing her own movie. That could provide the perfect opening to bring Melina back for another adventure. Another option could see Melina and Alexei leading their own spin-off, or perhaps there will just be a future movie that ties them together with the rest of the MCU. The possibilities are always endless when it comes to this franchise, and it will be quite interesting to see where the characters from Black widow following.
