Photos from the Star Wars set show a real-life location turned into an imperial base


New photos from the set of the Rogue One spinoff series Andor show a real-life dam in Scotland decorated to look like an imperial fortress.

New photos from the set of the next Star Wars Serie Andor show a real-life location converted to an imperial base. Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012 paved the way for the controversial sequel trilogy, but also provided the popular spinoff film. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Disney + has allowed the franchise to expand even further with spin-off shows like The mandolorian and many more in production. One of them is Andor, a prequel to Rogue one and an origin story for Cassian Andor (Diego Luna).

Since Andor is in the middle of the production process, specific plot details are not yet available, but its cast has taken shape. Luna will reprise her role as the main character. He will be joined by another returning character in Mon Mothma, played by Genevieve O’Reilly in Episode III – Revenge of the Sith Y Rogue one. Newcomers include Robert Emms (Chernobyl), who seems to have had a prominent role, while Stellan SkarsgĂ„rd and Fiona Shaw seem to support.

According to the Reddit user who shared the photos, they were taken on the Andor situated on the Cruachan reservoir in Scotland. The real life dam has been decorated with some turrets, bunkers and other decorations to make it look like an imperial fortress. Based on this recent batch of photos from the set, Andor seems to be doing his best to match Cassian’s prequel series to the bravest atmosphere of Rogue one.

These are the last photos that have emerged from the set of Andor, who have indicated that the Disney + program will come out of the famous 360-degree virtual stage where almost all of The mandalorian has been filmed. To invoke that roughness of Rogue one, Andor heads off the soundstage to enjoy a good filming in the old-fashioned venue with practical sets.
