Rock stars Red Dead Redemption 2 features many creatures in its huge open world, from the smallest robin to the largest grizzly bear. While hunting and fishing can be some of the most time-consuming activities throughout the game, however, there are few animals that players will spend more time with than their horses. As players progress Red Dead Redemption 2 story campaign, side quests, and free roaming, you’ll find that Arthur Morgan and John Marston are rarely far from one of these beasts of burden.
The main form of transportation through the vast open world of Red Dead Redemption 2 It is a horse, which can be acquired by taming creatures in the wild, buying them from stables, or stealing them from an unsuspecting civilian. Some horses are better than others, be it through personal stats, appearance, or even their backstory.
While there are dozens of different horse breeds to collect for the duration of RDR2 history, only a few become iconic beacons of western storytelling and culture in Red Dead Redemption 2.
RDR2: Arabian by Dutchman Van Der Linde, The Count
One creature that most players will recognize is the albino Arabian horse that resides within the Van der Linde gang’s camp at all times. RDR2main story. His name is the Count, and he is the mountain chosen by Dutch Van der Linde, the leader of the band. Not only is The Count an extremely fast horse, it is one of the most expensive breeds available, costing between $ 1,250 and $ 1,050 depending on where Arthur Morgan or John Marston buy it.
While it is unknown how Dutch acquired his albino Arab, it would not be totally out of place for him to abuse the camp funds for his own lavish lifestyle and false status symbols. The Count’s pure white appearance represents the dream of total freedom that Dutch has in his mind, as he is completely immaculate by the stark reality or logic that is present in the rest of the camp (and his horses). The Count is much scarier than other horses inside Red Dead Redemption 2 Van der Linde gang, perhaps speaking of Dutch’s shorter temper that only becomes more apparent as the game progresses.
RDR2: Hamish Sinclair’s Dutch Warmblood, Buell
Buell is a horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 which is available to players only as a reward for completing The Veteran Stranger Mission questline. He is a Dutch Warmblood with a pale, white pattern, and has a stubborn, fiery, and unpredictable temperament that can make both the player and Buell’s original owner Hamish Sinclair run for their money and patience.
Buell can be obtained from Arthur Morgan during the course of Chapter VI or from John Marston during the course of the Epilogue. Buell is one of the only horses players can get with a true backstory, and the horse actually appears as a minor character in Red Dead Redemption 2. Buell has excellent stats compared to other mounts and handles well even on the roughest terrain. Hamish Sinclair’s dying wish is for the player to take care of Buell, so bonding with this horse and venturing out west with him can be one of the most rewarding experiences in the game.
RDR2: Hosea Matthews Gifted Shire Horse
One of the most iconic (but overlooked) horses inside Red Dead Redemption 2 is Shire’s black horse that Hosea Matthews gifted to Arthur Morgan at the beginning of the mission “The Way Out Pursued by a Bruised Ego.” While most players will likely switch to the heavy black beast as soon as they arrive in Valentine, keeping the creature gifted with one of Arthur Morgan’s father figures can help forge a sentimental bond.
Shire’s horse does not have a first name unless players name it in one of the RDR2stables. Shire’s Horse and the Legendary Animals Map are the two gifts players can receive from Hosea Matthews for this quest, and both help players immensely as they travel through the American wilderness. Widely regarded as Red Dead Redemption 2 The wisest character, Hosea Matthews’ talented Shire horse offers strength and security over speed and promises to keep its rider safe from the dangers of the Wild West.
The wild Mustang herds of Red Dead Redemption 2
There are few horses as symbolic of the Wild West as the wild Mustang herds that can be found running freely around Red Dead Redemption 2 open world. There were once hundreds of herds of wild horses throughout the American desert, although the systematic destruction of their natural habitat, Western expansionism, and the development of once wild lands have greatly reduced their populations. Red Dead Redemption 2 recover some of the magic of the wild herds of Mustangs and other breeds of horses that remain in the wild.
For players looking to have a more natural (and less expensive) method of collecting new mounts in the game, tame one of RDR2The wild and beautiful Mustangs can reward you with one of the most cowboy-like moments the game has to offer. While its stats are not as high as those of the more superior or rare breed horses in RDR2, there is something to be said for riding a truly western horse in one of the best cowboy games ever made. These Mustangs are available in a variety of colors, making every encounter feel new and exciting.
RDR2: Uncle Nell III and Nell IV
The uncle is one of the best known members of the Van der Linde gang, having appeared in both RDR1 Y Red Dead Redemption 2. His chosen mount is also one of the gang’s most iconic horses, given that the uncle always names his horse the same way: Nell. Nell has come in several different guises, and between the end of Chapter VI and the uncle’s reappearance in the Epilogue, she dies or dies and is replaced by a mustached Appaloosa.
Given the amount of losses the Van der Linde gang experiences over the course of RDR2, it’s a lovely assurance that while Uncle is alive he will have another Nell to take him on his next adventures. Aside from the emotional significance, Nell IV’s mustached appearance is apparently the only horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 with such iconic facial hair, enhancing her unique style.
Red Dead Redemption 2 racing Nokota with abusive owner
Players can randomly experience one of Red Dead Redemption 2 Stranger missions when traveling through the American wilderness, where a cyclist can challenge them to a race. Upon defeating the Stranger, the opposing rider will dismount and punch his horse in the face. For those who kill or restrain the rider, freeing the Nokota from its abusive owner and giving it the loving treatment it deserves can be a rewarding experience.
The Nokota is one of the scariest horses in Red Dead Redemption 2, shaking and shaking his mane no matter how many times the players caress his neck. It’s a bit more difficult to earn this creature’s trust, but it’s certainly worth it in the end. Despite defeating the Nokota in a race, the creature is quite fast compared to other horses, and can be further improved with a higher bond and loving treatment within one of the RDR2 many stables.
Weather Red Dead Redemption 2 It has many different horses, there are only a few iconic pack beasts roaming the open world of the American Wild West. The game is full of strange encounters and hidden missions, and the community discovers more every day. Despite this, no matter what horse is discovered or how, Red Dead Redemption 2 is able to guarantee an enchanting experience by pairing the player with the chosen mount.
