Warner Bros. recruits TRON: Legacy and Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski to direct a film adaptation of AWA’s Chariot graphic novel series.
Warner Bros. Pictures is officially moving forward with Carriage, a film adaptation of the AWA graphic novel series that has TRON: Legacy Y Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski deputy director.
The first project of the newly formed AWA Studios, Carriage will be produced by Dan Cohen and Shawn Levy of 21 Laps, who are also known for their work on Strange things. Julian Meiojas, former writer / producer for The CW’s The flash, will write the script for the film, adapting the comics written by Bryan Edward Hill and drawn by Priscilla Petraites.
Described as a cross between True romance Y Matrix, the Carriage The adaptation will focus on a secret weapon of the Cold War era government “in the form of a next-generation sports car” designed for a star agent. Decades after the car sank into the ocean, taking the agent with it, a “petty criminal looking to reform his life” stumbles upon the Cart and discovers that the agent’s conscience still controls the vehicle.

Before collaborating in the Top gun sequel, Kosinski and star Tom Cruise worked together in 2013 I forget, a post-apocalyptic science fiction film based on Kosinski’s unreleased graphic novel. Kosinski is currently in post-production on Netflix. Spiderhead Escape, a sci-fi thriller / mystery based on the tale of the same name by George Saunders. Chris Hemsworth stars in the film alongside Miles Teller and Birds of preyJurnee Smollett.
