What famous cities would look like in Inception’s dream landscape


Travel site Next Vacay publishes a series of mind-blowing artworks that imagine what American cityscapes would look like as part of Inception’s dreamscape.

A vacation website is imagining what various US cities would look like. Startdreamy landscape. Launched in 2010, Start It is the sixth film written and directed by Christopher Nolan and its highest grossing outside of The dark knight trilogy. Like many of Nolan’s films, Start stars a cast that includes several of his frequent collaborators, including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ken Watanabe, and Michael Caine. Leonardo DiCaprio and Elliot Page play the film’s protagonists, Cobb and Ariadne.

Nolan had explored brain themes through non-linear narratives before in his first major film. I remember, but reached unmatched levels of ambition in Start. In the movie, DiCaprio’s Cobb acts as a professional thief who infiltrates the subconscious of his targets and steals information from their minds. By offering him the chance to erase his criminal past, Cobb is tasked with implanting a strange idea into the subconscious of a wealthy businessman, but he must first get past multiple layers of dreams. Page plays Cobb’s architect, someone who is recruited to build various dream landscapes, which are described as labyrinths in the film.

Now, in honor of the film’s 11th anniversary, the travel website Next Vacay has released a series of mind-blowing artworks that imagine what America’s cityscapes would look like as part of the Start dreamy landscape. The cities included are Los Angeles, San Antonio, Portland, Charlotte, New York, Chicago, Miami, St. Louis, Seattle, Minneapolis, and Honolulu. Review the Start-cities classified below:

Since its release more than a decade ago, Nolan’s film has remained in the collective consciousness, either through the debate on its lofty themes or Startambiguous ending, which turns black before Cobb’s top stops spinning.
