Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teases that WandaVision star Kathryn Hahn is returning to the MCU, and it could be soon.
Kevin Feige has made fun of that WandaVision star, Kathryn Hahn, will return to the MCU like Agatha Harkness and it could be soon. WandaVision kicked off Phase 4 of the MCU in January and introduced the public to Agnes, the noisy neighbor who was eventually revealed as the comic book character, Agatha Harkness. In the comics, Agatha serves as a mentor to Wanda Maximoff, but for the series, they reinvented her as the main villain.
The series ended with Agatha defeated, but Wanda chose not to kill her and instead trapped her in the neighboring character she created for herself (a prisoner of her own mind). With the character left alive, leave the door open for Marvel Studios to revisit the character if they wish. Hahn’s version of Agatha became an instant star character, with the catchy song “Agatha All Along” becoming a hit on social media and music playlists.
During an interview with Rotten tomatoes, reported by Comicbook.com, Kevin Feige says Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness. While he didn’t give a specific date or project, he teased that it would be soon. Hahn is currently filming Knives out 2 in Greece, so his schedule could open up after the movie ends. Read what Feige said below:
Someday. Someday, soon. You’ll see Kathryn Hahn in Knives Out 2 next, then maybe a variety of other things. But inside the MCU, it can’t get there soon enough. Let’s put it that way.
The note about Agatha’s appearance soon opens the door to a number of possible projects in which the character could appear. The obvious answer is that the character will appear next to WandaVision star, Elizabeth Olsen, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Insanity where she could be an unlikely ally to the newly dubbed Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange. Given the fact that Agatha has been alive since 1693, the character has lived a long life and could relate to the next Eternal movies or Mandarin in Shang Chi and the legend of the ten rings in small cameos. The ethics of locking it up inside your own mind might be a fun concept to explore in the next She hulk, where they could address the fact that Agatha received a punishment without a trial, and Hahn’s comic story would fit the tone of the series perfectly.
The other outstanding question is how the various Phase 4 projects are supposedly linked and what could they lead to. Both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Y Black widow They tease that Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is recruiting a team of characters who will serve as a mirror for The Avengers – with John Walker aka US Agent as the Captain’s understudy. America and Yelena Belova like the new one. Black widow With Agatha as the first major villain of Phase 4, it could be the next piece of the puzzle. Valentina could recruit Agatha for her team to be the replacement for The Scarlet Witch and provoke the formation of The Dark Avengers or the Thunderbolts. Given how the audience has responded to the character after WandaVision, Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness is likely here to stay at the MCU for a long time.
