Syfy and USA release a deadly teaser for the upcoming Child’s Play-inspired Chucky series ahead of the Comic-Con @ Home trailer.

Syfy and USA released a new trailer for the next Child’s play derived series Chucky.

The teaser begins with a close-up of a smiling Good Guys doll whose eyes widen quickly. The doll is then placed outside at a yard sale, where it is purchased by a teenager. However, when the teenager walks away, the host of the yard sale notices that a knife is missing from a nearby butcher shop.

The Child’s play The franchise follows a notorious serial killer who escapes death by transferring his spirit to child dolls. It started with the 1988s Child’s play and since then it has spawned six sequels and a remake.

Chucky It was ordered to series in January 2020 after entering development the previous year. Produced and directed by franchise creator Don Mancini, the project will feature the return of several familiar faces (and voices) including Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent and Christine Elise.

“The character that Don and David created has terrified audiences for more than 30 years,” USA & Syfy President Chris McCumber said when Chucky it was ordered serially. “Chucky’s longevity and legacy speaks to the creative storytelling and loyal following the film series has accumulated over the years.
