Isaiah Stokes, who has appeared on NBC’s Law & Order franchise, has been charged with the February murder of a New York City man.

A television actor who has appeared on NBC Law The franchise has been charged with a fatal shooting in New York.

Isaiah Stokes was indicted by a grand jury Friday on second-degree murder charges in the death of Tyrone Jones in February. Stokes also faces charges of illegal possession of a weapon.

Local authorities said surveillance video shows Stokes exiting his vehicle in Jamaica, Queens on February 7 and approaching another vehicle occupied by Jones. Stokes then fired multiple shots at Jones’ car, fatally wounding him. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The defendant is accused of firing nearly eleven shots during this blatant evening shooting,” read a statement issued by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. “Gun violence is too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm.”

Stokes will face the charges in court on Monday. If convicted, the actor faces 25 years to life in prison.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known.

Stokes has appeared in the crime drama. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The actor has also had roles in the Prohibition era. Boardwalk empire on HBO and CBS police drama Blue blood.
