There is a long list, right? It’s one of those things, right? You don’t want to talk about it, because there is nothing to talk about. They are all media, and they have no weight at all, there is nothing true. Having said that, you can’t help but think, ‘God, that would be awesome.’ And I’ve been for Bond, I did it when they did Bond 21. It was an amazing experience and it was completely out of my reach. But I think now I feel the right age for it, I feel capable enough to do it, I would love the opportunity to throw my hat in the ring.

Given that more established actors like Idris Elba and Tom Hardy may not want to be tied to a single franchise for more than a decade, Heughan may have an edge over them in this regard. One thing is clear for the future of James bond– The franchise has to get this casting right, and Heughan will be one of many qualified suitors who will step up to the plate.
