Loki will have a huge impact on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this is how the Disney + show is set up. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Marvel Studios’ third MCU series focused on telling a self-contained story about Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, but it still managed to lay the foundation for much of where the franchise is headed. The debut of the Time Variance Authority, the introduction of Variants, and the splitting of the MCU multiverse are just a few of the ways that LokiThe finale will run through several upcoming properties.
While a program like WandaVision seemed to primarily establish where Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), will be when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Insanity begins, it was Loki that had moments and characters that are important to the MCU in Phase 4. The Multiverse of Madness referenced in Doctor Strange 2The title was created in the Loki final, even before Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) killed He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). The effects of the crumbling of the Sacred Timeline are also expected to be felt in Spider-Man: No Way Home given previous reports Spiderman the return of the franchise’s stars and the presence of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.
Before now, it was unclear whether Loki it would have repercussions on any other upcoming MCU projects. The ending pointed out that he had a connection to What if … from Marvel?, and the post-credits scene confirmed Loki season 2 is happening. But, the program also states Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with the appearance of Jonathan Majors as The One Who Remains. The third film of the Ant Man The series will once again feature Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly. After seeing the franchise play a smaller role in the MCU’s grand scheme, Ant-Man 3 seems destined to change that. Here are all the ways Loki establishes Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Ant-Man 3 includes Kang the Conqueror
Marvel Studios first announced Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2020. This news came with confirmation that Peyton Reed would be directing again, with Rudd and Lilly headlining an expected group of returning cast members, including Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. However, Marvel also confirmed that Jonathan Majors will play Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man 3. This was previously reported and gave fans a significant reason to be excited about the upcoming movie. But when Marvel gave the film a 2023 release date, it was speculated that the Majors’ MCU debut could come sooner.
The Loki The finale delivered immense speculation by having Majors appear in a major role for only one episode. His character is called The One Who Remains and he is the one who created the TVA and oversaw the protection of the sacred timeline. The one that remains is the last surviving Kang from the previous Multiversal War, but he died at the end of Lokisixth episode. This will not prevent Majors from appearing in Ant-Man 3as it actually sets him up to play a completely different variant of Kang.
Loki taunted more dangerous Kang variants
The one that remains may not be the one that appears in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but he gave a terrifying joke before he died. As one of the many variants of Kang, He Who Remains mentioned that he is one of the variants that is closest to being a “nice guy” even though he admits that he is a villain. When Sylvie and Loki don’t fully buy this, The One Left said: “If you think I’m evil, wait until you know my variants.” This should be bad news for Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne in Ant-Man 3, as they will presumably come across one of the most evil Kang variants. There have been multiple versions of Kang throughout Marvel comic history, so it is not known exactly which version of Kang he will be in. Ant-Man 3. But, Loki doesn’t provide much confidence that Scott, Hope, and the rest of the Ant-Man team will be lucky with a more favorable Kang.
The multiverse could explain Cassie Lang’s recast
There is also the possibility that Loki could explain why Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Cassie Lang recast. Scott’s young daughter was previously played by Abby Ryder Fortson, but Marvel cast Emma Fuhrmann to play a teenage version of Cassie in Avengers Endgame. He impressed most of the viewers and the end of the film left the impression that he would return for Ant-Man 3. However, Marvel Studios surprised fans with the news that Kathryn Newton would be playing Cassie Lang in the three school. Since Newton is a bigger star, this recast piece was assumed to indicate how prominent Cassie’s role will be in the future and that it would not be addressed in the movie itself.
However, Loki opens the possibility that Kathryn Newton is a variant of Cassie Lang. No details of the plot are known Ant-Man 3, but this might fit. As the MCU moves towards the Young Avengers, Cassie de Newton could come from another timeline where she is already an established superhero. Perhaps this version of Cassie took up the mantle when Scott disappeared for five years or if she really did die for real. The MCU could very well handle adding Newton to Ant-Man 3 the same way they did with the previously recast MCU characters, but now Loki it has also created a different possible explanation.
How Tom Hiddleston’s Loki can be in Ant-Man 3
With Loki season one setting up Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, there’s a chance that Tom Hiddleston could reprise his role as Loki here as well. It is unknown when Loki Season 2 will take place in the MCU timeline and how it could relate to when Ant-Man 3 It is established. Also, Marvel hasn’t announced when Loki season 2 will be released. Ant-Man 3 confirmed for an early release date of 2023, the new season may not be ready to air until after that. The order of his pitches could affect the kind of role Hiddleston might have in Ant-Man 3, but there are some possibilities.
The Loki The finale ended with the reveal that a variant of Kang is ruling the TVA, so this could be the version of Kang that will appear in Ant-Man 3. If that’s the case, the fact that Hiddleston’s Loki is still involved with the TVA could lead to his appearance. He might even try to warn Scott and Hope of the threat Kang poses. There is also the possibility that Hiddleston’s Loki may be on the hunt for the other Kang variants in the future. If he finds a way to track them down, this could lead Loki to Ant-Man 3Kang’s version.
Is the TVA based on the quantum realm?
Loki It could also be revealed that he has created Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania if a connection between TVA and Quantum Realm is confirmed. The TVA operates in an unknown space where time works differently, but they also have access to some form of time travel. The Quantum Realm was previously confirmed as a source for time travel with Avengers Endgame, so TVA could also be using that power. TVA’s headquarters could even be the quantum city featured in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Since the producers have already teased more exploration of the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man 3, visiting that city and discovering the TVA that debuted in Loki could be included in that adventure.
