Final Fantasy XIV’s player base is growing, but Naoki Yoshida claims that it may not be necessary to increase server capacity for another couple of years.

Traffic has been booming for Square’s massively multiplayer online role-playing game for the past month, and the game set a new concurrent player record on Steam in early July. “A critical solution to congestion is an increase in worldwide servers, as well as the addition of data centers. As we have already announced, we are currently in the final stages of preparing our new Oceania data center. At the same time, we have been moving forward with plans to expand even further, rolling out wheels in the form of approving budgets, raising funds and purchasing equipment. We intended to evaluate the number of users and content planned after the 6.0 release, and then work towards having new servers or data centers ready for 7.0 “.
