After last week’s development on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Mick Rory is forced to face some difficult truths, as well as some physical changes.
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6 episode 10, “Bad Blood,” which aired Sunday on The CW.
Mick Rory received shocking news in the past week. Legends of tomorrow when a trip to 2023 featured a pregnant Lita. While Mick was angry at his daughter for this, he learned to accept her choices and was excited at the prospect of being a grandfather. When that revelation came, another followed when Gary told Mick that she was pregnant after her night with Kayla, and that the eggs were slowly growing on her head.
In “Bad Blood”, Mick (Dominic Purcell) reacts to the news, and is angry about this, choosing to ignore it at first. Because of this, Mick pays no attention to the “baby bump” on his neck, hoping it will go away. Lita (Mina Sundwall), on the other hand, tries to help her father realize the joys of pregnancy while also learning why Mick disappeared from her life in 2022, thus confirming Purcell’s departure from Legends of tomorrow. Mick’s attention to his situation further frustrates the arsonist and suffers from unexplained headaches.
Lita talks to him about what’s going on, causing Mick to realize that her mother wasn’t warned about her, and neither was Nico. This is similar to how Kayla (Aliyah O’Brien) didn’t warn Mick, but all three are making the most of the situation. Mick admits to Lita that he left Kayla to die on Bishop’s planet, accepting a possible death from childbirth because he feels guilty for leaving her behind. Before she could feel any more guilty about it, Lita goes into labor, forcing the future grandfather to rush her to the medical bay. Once there, Lita admits that she faked it as a ruse to get Mick to the medical bay in case he went into labor.
Mick accepts Lita’s help and they do a head scan, confirming that she is not going into labor. However, he discovers that he has 48 eggs inside his head. While Mick starts off angry and feels guilty, seeing his ultrasound finally makes him happy, realizing that it could make Kayla proud by caring for her children and helping keep her memory alive in upcoming episodes of DC Legends of Tomorrow, which airs Sundays at 8:00 pm ET / PT on The CW.
