The anime adaptation of The Ancient Wizard’s Bride started in 2017 with the release of the first part of the three-part OVA special, The Ancient Magician’s Bride: Those Who Wait for a Star. Although it looks like a prequel at first, the OVA actually takes place in the middle of the first season of the anime series. Animation for both the anime and the OVA was done by the famous Wit Studio, and the first season ran for 24 episodes. The next OVA, The boy from the west and the knight of the mountain mist, It will act as a season 2 for the anime series, and is being managed by a studio specifically formed to create the series, Studio Kafka. It will be packaged with the next manga volumes, but this is only confirmed for Japan, at the moment.
