Member of the WWE Hall of Fame Kevin Nash expects Rob Zombie to cast him as Herman Munster in The Munsters, an upcoming film adaptation based on the classic comedy series. In the original TV show, Herman, a parody of the Frankenstein monster and the patriarch of the Munster family, was played by legendary actor Fred Gwynne. Zombie recently shared an image on Instagram that reveals the clay sculpture that will be used for the character’s forehead, complete with the familiar scar on the side.
Rob Zombie has been quite open with fans about the pre-production process for Munsters movie, but has not been able to announce any information about the cast. There have been names floating around as cast members from the rumors, but until Zombie or Universal make this news official, other actors might be intrigued by the possibility of getting involved. Enter Kevin Nash, who has also worked sporadically as an actor in addition to his professional wrestling career.
In a recent interview for WWE’s Sessions of the broken skull With Steve Austin, Nash discussed his long wrestling career and his various accolades. Speaking to “Stone Cold”, Nash also touched on his acting work, and then specifically mentioned The Munsters like the movie you want to undertake next. From the interview:
“I love acting. Like now, Rob Zombie has the rights to The Munsters. I would love to play Herman. The point is that there is sensitivity and femininity in Herman Munster. That would be if I had to choose the perfect role that I always wanted to play. “
After the interview with Austin, Nash retweeted a fan’s Twitter post saying, “Hey @RobZombie … I have to make it happen! @RealKevinNash should be the next Herman Munster.”

Many wrestling fans may not realize that Kevin Nash was the one who played Super Shredder in the 1991 sequel. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of Snot. He has also appeared in various movies over the years as The Punisher, The longest patio, Grandma’s boy, John wick, and the Magic mike films. It last appeared in 2020. Chick fight with Malin Akerman, Bella Thorne and Alec Baldwin.
Can’t blame Kevin Nash for putting his name on his hat for The Munsters, as Zombie hasn’t had a problem recruiting professional wrestling stars for his movies in the past. Diamond Dallas Page appeared as a bounty hunter alongside Danny Trejo in the fearless horror movie. The Devil’s Rejects. Tyler Mane, a former professional wrestler who starred in World Championship Wrestling as The Wall, played the Rob Zombie incarnation of Michael Myers in both of the filmmaker’s films. Hallowe’en films.
The problem for Nash is that the role of Herman Munster could already have been cast. As of now, Zombie hasn’t officially confirmed any of the information about the rumored cast, but an earlier report from Murphy’s Multiverse claims that Jeff Daniel Phillips has been cast in the role. Phillips has appeared in many of Zombie’s previous films, including the most recent, 3 from hell, which was released in 2019.
We are still waiting for the official casting announcements for The Munsters from Zombie, and a release date has yet to be revealed. You can see the full interview with Kevin Nash at Sessions of the broken skull with Steve Austin on the NBCUniversal Peacock streaming service.
