Sugimoto teams up with a vengeful young woman, Asirpa, whose father was one of the Ainu miners who originally discovered gold before he was betrayed. The two travel through Hokkaido, unraveling clues to the gold’s location as they battle other treasure hunters and opportunists who want to take the gold for themselves.
