Simu Liu prepares for battle in Marvel’s version of a Mortal Kombat tournament in a new trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The Shang-chi The video opens with Simu Liu’s titular hero taking on an unknown opponent in a transparent octagon. Katy from Awkwafina asks what happened to her shirt, leaving Shang-Chi simply to reply with a shrug of her arms and shoulders. We can then see the mysterious Ten Rings in action as Tony Leung’s Wenwu, aka The Mandarin, unleashes the power of the rings against a vast army of soldiers.

Some other new footage shown includes Shang-Chi fighting someone on a tram with a deadly blade for an arm. At one point, Shang-Chi jumps from one passenger car to another, while the villain is left spinning in his wake. A stunning finale features Shang-Chi falling from the sky and landing with a golden glow of energy, with a set of rings surrounding him as he prepares to face his own father, the Mandarin.

The first full trailer of Shang-chi surprised fans by reintroducing The incredible Hulk Abomination villain to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The abomination was shown fighting a mystical opponent, who many speculated was Doctor Strange’s ally, Wong, played by Benedict Wong. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige later confirmed that the trailer for Shang-Chi showed Wong fighting the abomination of the incredible Hulk.
