Christian Birkenberger is Big Brother 23’s new head of household. Being HOH could make or break Christian’s future in the house.

Christian Birkenberger is the fourth head of the family in Older brother 23, and it could help and hurt your game. Following the unanimous eviction of Brent Champagne, the alliances in the house begin to fracture. The season’s team twist has added another layer of strategy to BB23, and guests are working to ensure their safety through many different alliances.

Christian is a member of the Kings team, along with his show partner Alyssa Lopez, Xavier Prather and Sarah Beth Steagall. Xavier won last week’s Head of Household competition, so the entire Kings team was safe. Meanwhile, the Kings have been working on an alliance between teams called Royal Flush. That alliance includes Queens members Tiffany Mitchell, Kyland Young and Claire Rehfuss, as well as Aces member Derek Xiao.

Christian may not realize it, but winning HOH this week was vital to his survival at home. Last week, Tiffany and Claire were secretly planning to orchestrate an HOH win for a non-Queens member to give Christian and Alyssa a chance. They were hoping to pitch the competition to Aces member Whitney Williams so she could target the Kings without the Queens being seen as the culprit. Guests find the Kings threatening because they are the only team in the house that still has its original four members, two of whom are at a show. In live broadcasts, Christian has landed on Whitney as his target so he can take out a player who was ready to shoot him and his team. He could also use his power to shore up the Royal Flush alliance and position the Kings for more isolation when the teams’ spin finally ends.

However, the reign of the Christian Head of Household could also make his individual goal even bigger than it already is. Not only is he at a show and a member of the most powerful team in the house, but he has also been revealed as a legitimate threat to the competition. This householder victory marks their third victory in the competition at home. He won the first Wildcard competition of the season, as well as last week’s Power of Veto. He also won his qualifying playoff of the season’s first householder competition. It seems like it’s only a matter of time until the rest of the house realizes how dangerous it is when it comes to competitions.

Christian’s position in the coming weeks could depend on how his HOH reign plays out this week. If you want to go far in the game, you need to focus on solidifying relationships with players like Tiffany and Claire so that they see you as an asset to their games rather than a threat. However, it may be too late to change course, as the whole house knows how strong he is as a player and will most likely want him out of the house sooner rather than later.
