The tearjerker will star Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, Amy Ryan and Tate Donovan.

Netflix just revealed the new poster and release date for Value, the next film set around the aftermath and the recovery process of 9/11. The movie was directed by Sara colangelo, the filmmaker behind The kindergarten teacher with Maggie gyllenhaal. Screenwriter Max borenstein wrote the film based on the nonfiction book of Kenneth R. Feinberg noble How Much Is Life Worth ?: The Unprecedented Effort to Compensate the Victims of September 11.

The movie and book follow the real-life story behind the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund. Michael Keaton plays Feinberg, an attorney and mediator appointed by Congress to run the fund. Feinberg and his team are faced with the impossible task of determining the value of a life to the families who lost them, while the nation is still reeling from the insurmountable aftermath of September 11. Amy ryan stars like Camille Biros, the chief of operations of the firm, with Stanley tucci playing a community organizer who lost his wife in the attacks. Completing the cast are Tate donovan, Shunori ramanathan, Talia Balm, Laura Benanti, Marc maron, Ato Blankson-Wood, Chris late, Carolyn mignini, Y Victor slezak.

Value premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival to relatively positive reviews. Collider’s Matt Goldberg called the film “a thoughtful proceeding on the conflict between compassion and pragmatism,” and highlighted the strong performances by Keaton and Tucci. The poster, cast, and story overview deliberately draw allusions between the film and Stand out, another proceeding on a serious true story in American history. The September release date should fit in nicely with the other award-eligible films, as Academy Award nominees and a moving story based on true events are sure to turn heads around awards season.

Plus, the poster is sure to highlight Keaton, Ryan, and Tucci, and I’m sure these fantastic and dependable actors will demonstrate their usual talents with poise. Keaton will also appear in The protégé, an action thriller starring Maggie Q Y Samuel L. Jackson which will be released in August. Ryan can be seen below at Only murders in the building, an upcoming murder mystery comedy series to premiere on Hulu. And Tucci will return as Dr. Abraham Erskine for a Marvel episode What if…?

Value It will premiere on Netflix in select markets on Friday, September 3. See the new poster below.
