Lionsgate just released the trailer for its sci-fi thriller Warning starring Thomas Jane. It is described as “The meaning of life explored through multiple interconnected lives set in the near future.” I have seen the trailer several times; there is enough to assimilate. We have Jane in space, menacing asteroids in our path, immortal things (?), Alexa as God, disturbing visions, mind control, a kind of doomsday countdown, snow angels, dancing, and romance. Jump!
With Thomas janeThe sci-fi thriller also stars Alex Pettyfer, Alice Eve, Annabelle Wallis, Benedict Samuel, Charlotte Le Bon, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Rupert Everett, Tomasz Kot, Kylie Bunbury, and Garance Marillier. This will be Agata Alexander’s directorial debut for her film that she co-wrote with Jason Kaye and Rob Michaelson. Cybill Lui of Anova Pictures produced the project.
Agata Alexander He began making music videos, working with Marilyn Manson, Skrillex, and Diplo. The official synopsis reads: “Set in the not-too-distant future, this intense sci-fi thriller explores the repercussions humanity faces when omniscient technology becomes a substitute for human contact. But life begins to unravel when a global storm drives electronics to go haywire, leading to dire and deadly consequences. Stars Thomas Jane (Deep Blue Sea), Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy), Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike), Alice Eve (Before We Go) and Kylie Bunbury ( When they see us). “
I think what I’m seeing is the endless list of world problems in a single movie, requiring space aid, together with the people of Earth to make a concerted effort with the help of the immortals to find a solution to all of this in a matter of days. There also seems to be a romance there. I’d love to see how all these ideas fit together. Global warming, technology becoming a substitute for human contact, apathy, a global storm that renders our electronic devices useless, a man trapped in space holding a satellite, are just some of the issues and circumstances seen in a minute and change.
In a change of pace, Thomas Jane has quite a few westerns on the way. He co-stars with Heather Graham in The last son, a Westerner about an outlaw who is trying to end his evil family line. Other western Apache Junction will hit theaters on September 24. Murder on Emigrant Gulch is another western hitting theaters on December 6, featuring a former slave who arrives in Emigrant Gulch, Montana, an ancient and desolate booming town now in decline, in search of a place to call home. That same day, a local prospector discovers gold and is assassinated. He stars in the new television series, Troppo, in 2022. Warning hits select theaters, digital and on demand October 22.
