A new trailer for Ridley Scott’s upcoming crime biopic Gucci house, starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver and Jared Leto, has been released.
Gaga plays Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, grandson of Guccio Gucci, founder of the luxury fashion brand of the same name. In real life, Maurizio was shot and killed in 1995 and Reggiani was convicted of ordering his murder in 1998.
The trailer shows Reggiani’s initiation into the Gucci family and the ensuing hostility from Aldo Gucci (Al Pacino), Maurizio’s uncle and president of the company for more than 30 years after she tries to infiltrate the business.
Here’s the trailer:
The official MGM blurb reads:
“A legacy worth killing for … Gucci house is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house Gucci. Through three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge and, ultimately, murder, we see what a name means, what it is worth, and how far a family will go for control. “
The development of Gucci house has received criticism from the Gucci family. Patrizia Gucci, a descendant of founding father Guccio Gucci, told The Associated Press:
“We are really disappointed. I speak for the family. “
“They are stealing a family’s identity for profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system … Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything. But there is a border that cannot be crossed ”.
The film also stars Leto as Paolo Gucci, Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, Jack Huston, Camille Cottin, Reeve Carney as Tom Ford, plus Mădălina Diana Ghenea as Sophia Loren and Salma Hayek as Giuseppina “Pina” Auriemma.
Gucci house It will be released in theaters on November 26.
