At LucasFilms they have two huge projects to continue expanding the universe of Star Wars films, currently without a title and with little information about the pre-production process they are in.

On the one hand, Rian Johnson will return to the franchise after ‘The Last Jedi’ with a new trilogy. The idea was announced in 2017 and there has been no news since then, but at the beginning of the year the director said that although he has delayed the project due to scheduling problems, he keeps the trilogy in development.

Finally, Taika Waititi is working on his own script for another Star Wars movie. The director knows the saga first-hand from his work on ‘The Mandalorian’, where he has provided the voice of IG-11 and directed one of the best episodes of the first season.
