We have reached December, and with it comes the time for all of us to take stock of the year that is about to end. Google has launched its usual review of the most searched terms of the year, and focusing on the categories related to cinema and series we see that there are few surprises. A lot of Marvel, Korean television surprises and, of course, actors and actresses with controversy under their arms have taken over global searches.
In the case of actors, we find Alec Baldwin in first position, as a result of the accident on the set of ‘Rust’ that ended with the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin is also the most wanted person of the year. It is followed in actors by the star of ‘Saturday Night Live’ (and ‘The Suicide Squad’) Pete Davidson, and in third position we find Aryan Khan, son of the Indian star Shah Rukh Khan, who was arrested a few months ago for consumption of drugs Gina Carano and her “march” from ‘The Mandalorian’, Armie Hammer and the whole cannibalism thing and Dave Chappelle and his controversial anti-trans monologue on Netflix occupy positions 4, 5 and 9. Elliot Page sneaks in at number 8.
‘Eternals’ and ‘The Squid Game’, the most wanted film and series
In terms of films, the most sought after worldwide this year has been ‘Eternals’, followed by ‘Black Widow’. Marvel makes almost a triplet but ‘Dune’ was ahead of ‘Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings’. Netflix’s ‘Red Alert’ ranks fifth.
To no one’s surprise, ‘The Squid Game’ has been the most sought after series on a list absolutely colonized by Netflix and Disney +. ‘The Bridgertons’, ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’, ‘Cobra Kai’ and ‘Loki’ round out the five most searched series on Google.
Unfortunately, search rankings in Spain are not available yet.
