A serial adaptation of “Hell or High Water” is in the works on Fox.

The hour-long drama is based on Taylor Sheridan and David Mackenzie’s 2016 western crime drama and starred Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, and Ben Foster. In that movie, Pine and Foster played two brothers who rob banks to save their family’s ranch. Bridges played one of the Texas Rangers trying to hunt them down.

Here’s the logline for the Fox version:

When a ruthless oil mogul tries to loot a West Texas cattle community, two local brothers dodge a jealous Texas Ranger and fight to get what is his, one bank robbery at a time, through thick and thin.

Jessica Mecklenburg will write and executive produce. Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, Charlie Corwin and Marcy Ross of SK Global will also serve as executive producers along with Gigi Pritzker and Rachel Shane of Madison Wells and Julie Yorn and Carla Hacken. Kimmel, Penotti, Pritzker, Shane, Yorn, and Hacken produced the original film. Mackenzie is also an executive producer.

The series features a script commitment plus additional materials.

SK Global will produce in conjunction with Fox Entertainment. SK Global executive Mark O’Connor is leading the project with television president Marcy Ross and Rachel Shane for Madison Wells. The deal was negotiated on behalf of SK Global by Head of Business and Legal Affairs, Brian Kornreich.

Variety first reported on the news.
