Ghostface’s return to Woodsboro this past January was successful enough that Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment want more blood. As reported by the hollywoodreporter, They have already greenlit a sixth ‘Scream’ movie..

The film will once again have Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett as directors, and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick as screenwriters.. This quartet is behind the successful fifth ‘Scream’, which has already grossed more than 100 million dollars worldwide. At the moment it only surpasses ‘Scream 4’ at the global box office, but it has been considered a triumph having been released in a pandemic and facing a steamroller like ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which it managed to snatch number 1 in his first weekend in the United States.

Who will come back?

Kevin Williamson, creator of the saga along with Wes Craven, will return as executive producer. They have not announced, yes, nothing about the cast. The fifth ‘Scream’ saw Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette return as Sidney, Gale and Dewey once again. The three veterans welcomed a whole group of new faces, led by Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega as Sam and Tara Carpenter. Although of course we lost several characters along the way, the new characters left a pretty good taste in our mouths so they would probably be well received in a sixth installment.

We do not know what turn they intend to give to the film after having laughed at the “requels” in the fifth. They have not given an approximate release date either. But all you slasher fans will be wishing the phone would ring again.
