Season 2 of 'The Bridgertons'

The phenomenon ‘The Bridgertons’ has done it again. After having positioned itself as the most watched series on Netflix for a while, being unseated by ‘The Squid Game’, fiction continues to break records with the premiere of its second season.

As reported The Hollywood Reporterthis new installment has accumulated 193 million hours viewed worldwide during the weekend of its launch, corresponding to March 25, 26 and 27. This data makes it the best start of any series in English from the streaming giant.

However, despite its success, ‘The Bridgertons’ would continue to be behind the fifth part of ‘The paper house’a Spanish proposal that obtained 201.9 million hours between September 3 and 5, 2021. In addition, the most marriageable family on the entire platform has crept into the top 10 of 92 of the 93 countries in which Netflix applies their statistics, with Japan being the exception to the rule.

Following the order of the Julia Quinn novels on which ‘The Bridgertons’ is based, this second season adapts ‘The Viscount Who Loved Me’. The plot centers on the eldest son of the clan, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), who is looking for a “good woman” to marry. His mission is over when he meets Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), recently arrived from India, but his protective sister Kate (Simone Ashley) promises not to make it easy for him on every level.

The season is proving to be a success among viewers, who have fallen in love with the dynamic from enemies to lovers of these two irresistible characters. And this is only the beginning, because there are already two more confirmed seasons and its producer, Shonda Rhimes, plans to adapt the eight books of the main saga, corresponding to each of the Bridgerton brothers.
